Nitrux is a Debian-based Linux distribution, suitable for laptops and desktop computers, with the beautiful NX Desktop and MauiKit applications.
Its main desktop environment is Nomad, a KDE Plasma desktop enhanced with βplasmoids to create a special combination of aesthetics and functionality.
On top of this, the project also focuses on creating redistributable applications using the AppImage format.
Now, Uri Herrera of the Nitrux project has announced the release of Nitrux 1.6.

The monthly Nitrux ISO releases continue, and the Nitrux 1.6 release is here as a major update to the distribution that brings many new GNU/Linux technologies, updated applications and many improvements, making Nitrux one of the best distros for home and home use. desk .
First of all, Nitrux 1.6 is one of the first Linux distributions to release an ISO Live image with the latest and best Linux 5.14 kernel series by default.
In addition, Nitrux now supports Linux 5.4 and 5.10 LTS kernels, as well as Linux-libre 5.10 and 5.13 kernels.
The 5.14 Linux kernel is accompanied by some of the latest KDE news, as Nitrux 1.6 comes with the KDE Plasma 5.22.4 desktop environment, as well as the KDE Gear 21.08 and KDE Frameworks 5.85 software packages.
After all, Nitrux is a KDE-oriented distro, so users should have the best KDE Plasma desktop experience possible.

It has three views, Store View to browse all available apps, Apps View to see all your downloaded apps and Progress View to see the download progress of apps.
About this, developer Uri Herrera said that:
βNX Software Center, NX SC for short, is a graphical front-end for managing AppImages (and AppImages only), and is built using MauiKit 2.0.0. AppImages, as well as the data displayed in the app, are taken from AppImageHub.com.β
Nitrux 1.6 also features touchpad gestures by default on X11, Powerlevel10k as the default ZSH theme (and it looks really awesome, as you can see in the top screenshot), as well as two new KWin scripts to move maximized windows to a new virtual desktop and apply a Blur effect to user-specified windows.
Among other changes, this release removes the Plasma Discover package manager and LMMS digital audio workstation from the default installation, improves rootfs reliability, and adds Nitrux's classic Konsole color scheme to the correct path for applications that use QMLTermWidget can display it as an option.
The developers said that future versions of Nitrux will use their own rootfs instead of the unstable (vanilla) Debian rootfs used so far.
