I've been working on the knee move review consistently for a lot of days now, and these attempts at hitless runs have been a nice sidequest along the video. After about 10+ actual runs where I made it through the end of the game, I finally managed to do one where I don't lose a life square the entire game. My previous PB was 2. So now that I managed to lose 0, the only way to improve on it would be to play either no knockdown or hitless, so the standard goes up. I had a lot of trouble getting started on these runs, mainly because of losses in the helicopter, which I can't practice because the Game Genie doesn't contain any code where you can start at that level. But if I make it to the undersea base, get good luck on Arnold, and am still hitless at that point, that's how I know I have a chance to get the #1 Run hitless, or no knockdown. So that's where the standard is now that I've completed this run. Any future uploads will have to be no knockdown or hitless.
