No Man's Sky Game Review - A Never-ending Cosmic Adventure
No Man’s Sky has a complicated history as one of the more critically lambasted games when it first came out. With all the negative press, I decided not to get hold of it, which was probably a good idea at the time. But like all things that have to struggle to survive, I believe No Man’s Sky has become a stronger game because of it. Recently my brother got it and he liked it so much he got me one, and what do I think of it? - It’s FANTASTIC.
From boarding derelict freighters to managing your own bases and colonies, exploring the universe and just spacing out, the game has it all. You can either play as a Gek or one of the other, inferior races, though it doesn’t really matter as your statistics are governed not by race, but by your multitool and exosuit upgrades, and your ship’s abilities and capabilities are mainly controlled by it’s upgrades and class.
I highly recommend No Man’s Sky. I rate a game based on the level of enjoyment I personally get out of it. Usually the more complex a game, the more I enjoy it, and No Man’s Sky hasn’t bored me yet. I’ve become a sad addict, desperately dragging myself to strange new worlds and categorising thousands of species, plants and rock formations.
If you’ve ever wanted to fly a spaceship, you can do that, heck you can fight pirates and blow them up at high speed. You can investigate derelicts and try and find out what the hell happened on them. You can own your own capital ship and make less important people go out on dangerous missions to bring you massive rewards so you don’t have to. As for me, I like to just find a nice beautiful planet and relax there. This game has it all. I’ve barely tried out multiplayer, and I just love the solo experience.
All in all, my experience with No Man’s Sky has been an awesome one, and I’ve wracked up a lot of hours worth of playtime on several characters. It’s got something for everyone and even though some planets are remarkably similar, I still keep seeing new things no matter where I go in the universe. There are a few things in the game that I think could be better, however, considering how much I love the game, what it is, the sheer scope of what you can do, and how much it costs, especially if you get it on deal. I give the game a fantastic rating of 8/5 out of 10.
