No Man's Sky PSVR REACTION to spacecraft FIRST flight
The first live footage of my first (and second) spaceship flight in No Man’s Sky Beyond using PlayStation VR.
[00:37] Viewing the inside of the cockpit
[01:21] First VR flight into space
[25:36] Second VR flight over landscape, hills and valleys
It was an amazing experience that actually made me feel that I was in the cockpit of my spaceship the Radiant Pillar BC1. I was able to look around behind my seat and in front at the flight controls. Then look out the window as I felt the sensations of my craft flying up and over the alien landscape. You better believe VR is part of the future of gaming!
I first played about 1 hour and 20 minutes of this on a PS4 Pro with PSVR using a Hori controller and it was ridiculously hard because I was unable to aim the laser of my Omni-Tool properly at anything and it really made me incorrectly think the VR mode was borked! However, the problem was the third-party controller doesn’t have a light bar which is essential for letting the PlayStation Camera know where you are aiming!
So I spent the tutorial-like period finding ship parts and getting lost in a deep, dark underground cavern until I could find my way out. I tried free movement for a while but I couldn’t handle it and it made me feel queasy, so I saved my game and quit.
Anyway, I went back to my game this time using the DualShock 4 (with lightbar!) with teleport movement and smooth turning, and it felt much better. The video shows me just after I've fully repaired my ship and I get in for my first ever spaceship flight in VR – and it really is a trip!
