No Second Chances.
The series title describes this game perfectly. XCOM is a game about tactical, permament decisions. There is no "undo" button. If you make one wrong move, people will die, and there will be consequences. Death is permament, as is failure. Everything is on the line, and there is no turning back. The stakes could nto be higher.
Throughout this playthrough, I'm only going to use a couple self imposed rules.
1- No changing the difficulty from Classic (Hard)
2- No looking up ANYTHING about the game online
3- No reloading from a previous save. There are no second chances.
Everything else is fair game. I will do my best to fight back against the alien threat and defend Earth from all invaders. I'm probably going to go down in a spectacular blaze of complete failure, but that's probably what half of you are here to see anyway.
So I have a few thoughts about this video series I'm unsure of. XCOM, being a turn-based strategy game, has a lot of slow points. You could even say the action is slow in general. As such, I cut a LOT more out of this than I do Skyrim or Dark Souls or anything else. Do you guys want to see more? Do you want to see the occasional uncut, possibly even livecommed battle? Let me know what you want from the series in the comments below!
Lastly, those of you who actually read descriptions get a special reward. If you follow the twitters or hang out in my steam chat, you have probably seen me asking for troop names. Death is permanent and soldiers die A LOT, so I need a lot of new recruits. If you want to have a soldier named after you in the playthrough, leave this at the end of your comment-
