When you experience this by playing it in Dreams, when prompted to hold L2 and R2, your controller rumbles. It also affects what you see, reducing camera shake and changing the camera angle, as you hold on through the storm.

For the Youtube version, the first 'play-through' is with L2 and R2 held at the end, and the second 'playthrough' is without holding on.
