Part 3. Nocturne is the prequel to Blair Witch Volume I: Rustin Parr and it's a cool but overall rough experience. It's a survival horror game with a heavy focus on combat and that combat can be brutal. The game is split into 4 chapters and each is its own individual story. The first is cool you are hunting vampires and fighting were wolves, but holy crap are the enemies hard to fight. The werewolves constantly jumping you and pincer attacking. They fly out of nowhere and are super fast and strong. It's tough. Most of the rest of the game pales in comparison. The game is generous with a save anywhere and it's very useful. There is a lot of quick deaths and falling from heights. You get an absurd amount of weapons and ammo variety. Enemies have weaknesses but enough bullets will kill anything. You also have melee weapons and some are super helpful. Some of the chapter go on a little long, but for the most part are pretty fun. It is nice that they offer a lot of variety. I bound the controls to a controller so everything worked pretty well. There is a jump button and that means there is awkward tank style platforming. It's not a bad game but it certainly is far from great. It's kind of a curiosity I am sure most people don't even know it exists. I dare say it's a hidden gem and at least worth a look. It is a bit hard to get running but there are a few guides out there. Enjoy my blind playthrough.
