A Korean version of Pokémon Gold was released in 2002 which is incompatible for the original Game Boy.

This version was released in 2002 and patched at least a few glitches, such as the Coin Case glitch. If the game does attempt to reset itself via a glitch dimension, or if the cartridge is inserted into an original Game Boy, then a message will appear stating the game is only available on the Game Boy Color, however unlike the Pokémon Crystal message it doesn't use any borders.
