2,178Legal notice issued to Patanjali for allegedly using non-vegetarian ingredient in its dental product. Lawyer Shasha Jain raises concerns on Twitter regarding the deceptive use of Samudra phen (cuttlefish) in Patanjali’s Divya Dant Manjan product, which is labelled as vegetarian and green. The list of ingredients in the product includes ‘Samundra Fen’ (Sepia Officinalis), commonly known as common cuttlefish. Jain shared a copy of the legal notice she issued to Patanjali, requesting the company to provide clarifications regarding the alleged use of non-vegetarian substances within 15 days of receiving the notice. In November of last year, the Ayurvedic and Unani Services authorities in Uttarakhand issued an order to Patanjali’s Divya Pharmacy, instructing them to halt the production of five drugs. However, this decision was later revoked. Following a complaint lodged by Dr. K.V. Babu, an ophthalmologist based in Kerala, action was taken against Divya Pharmacy for claiming that their eye drops were effective in treating conditions such as glaucoma, cataract, and other eye problems
