NOOB vs PRO: 1v1 Hockey Challenge on REAL ICE (Scrap Mechanic Gameplay)

Oh boy....what can I say...this was a wild one! With the introduction of the new frictionless ice block to the Scrap Mechanic modpack, kAN and I decided we should play a good ol' fashioned game of hockey. It seemed like a fairly easy task until we both realized that our creations have far less control than we thought they would! That is to be expected from a noob such as myself...but even kAN was struggling to control his hockey bot! There were certainly a lot of random aspects to this challenge and there was a lot of luck (or lack there of) involved. I decided to build a robot that had a low center of gravity and had the hockey stick attached to a bearing that was controlled by my steering. I thought this was a good idea but it proved to be detrimental to the overall performance because the "hockey stick" couldn't slap fast enough and created a flex point that made it hard to control the puck on the ice. I also wasn't able to make strafe controls which made the hockey bot that much harder to control. kAN on the other hand built a full on hockey player robot that can actually do a slap shot! I was blown away when I first saw it, it just looks so realistic! kAn's robot also had strafe control which made it that much easier to maneuver around the arena. With that said, we both had a ton of fun and could have kept playing hockey in Scrap Mechanic forever. As far as goofy entertaining challenges go, this one is up there on my list of favorites. I hope you guys enjoyed watching it as much as we enjoyed playing it and we'll see you next week! :)

About Scrap Mechanic:
Scrap Mechanic is an all-new creative multiplayer sandbox game which drops you right into a world where you quite literally engineer your own adventures! Choose from the 100+ building parts you have at your disposal and create anything from crazy transforming vehicles to a house that moves. You’re even able to team up with your friends to create amazing things together: in Scrap Mechanic, you’re the master creator of anything you can imagine!
Here’s the deal: you’re a robot maintenance mechanic en route to your posting on a fully-automated agriculture planet. Your job is to take care of the worker robots as they work the land, sending the food they produce to the metropolitan planets. Thing is, close to touchdown your spacecraft loses control and crashes, but since you’ve got luck on your side (erm…), you survive! You’re stranded though, and at first glance you find that not everything’s quite as it should be. The Farmbots working the fields have gone crazy, and now there’s only one way to stay alive: using your quick thinking, your creativity and your wily knack of turning your surroundings to your advantage.
