I was playing vanilla Half-Life from Steam; not Source, and without any mods or file changes. I had just downloaded the game and verified my files.

While playing through Surface Tension, I coincidentally moved through a level-transition line while ducking against a sloped surface (effectively I was surfing by accident?). This caused the game to load me into the floor on the next level, which made me unable to move; completely soft-locking the game. I had to load my game to continue playing.
