I recently modded a Model 1 VA6 Sega Genesis with halt, 10MHz overclock/stock, region select and language select switches. When you change the region to PAL, you end up with the inferior PAL 50hz standard but you also get the superior PAL resolution! This was pretty much the final test for my Genesis before I recap it, change the voltage regulators to buck converters (way way less heat), lift the composite pin to clean up the RGB signal and clean up the whole thing in general.
