Midir seems to have a giant life bar and not many opportunities to lay into him. My first 3 or 4 attempts I tried to stay near his tail and hit his head when I could. However, the AOE fire kept getting me so I decided to try and hang out in front and see if I could just react. That seemed to work better for me and this was probably my 3rd attempt trying that and only the second time I'd seen phase 2.

I only had 2 flasks left going into the second half of his HP bar/phase two. I embered near the end which I'd never done to restore health in a boss fight before. Somehow it worked out despite there being multiple instances where I should have died. I should have never beat him on this attempt and it was played so sloppily but sometimes it just works out that way.
