Today we present Nuclear Blaze, the latest game from the creator of Dead Cells. Released just last month, we are surprised this game has not yet received more attention.

In recent years, Dead Cells has set the gold standard for pixel graphics and Nuclear Blaze is no exception. All of its character animations are buttery smooth and the detailed backgrounds come together to make a game that simply looks beautiful.

This game does not play around with a lengthy exposition or detailed backstory. You are immediately thrown right into the action - and we love it!

You jump from a chopper and straight away you learn how to navigate your surroundings and extinguish fires.

What makes the game particularly rewarding is its pacing and sense of progression. After completing an area, you simply move on to the next. There is no backtracking or need to return to finished areas.

Puzzles can be solved by taking different approaches depending on your playing style. Sometimes you are given a new ability to help you solve your next puzzle. For example, the water shield prevents backdrafts from killing you and the evasion skill helps you manouver and avoid various hazards.

At times the stages can be frustrating, but there are regular checkpoints to put you at ease. If you find Nuclear Blaze too difficult (or easy), you can adjust the difficulty accordingly. There's even a "kid" mode for younger audiences!

Where Nuclear Blaze really shines is in creating an mysterious atmosphere and compelling narrative. Its soundtrack and sound design plays an equally significant role with subtle references to classics like Super Metroid.

As a fun bonus in the game, you can do what firemen do best: rescue cats! There are a number of cats hidden in this weird military facility that need you to rescue them. In our playthrough we unfortunately missed two of them.

Although Nuclear Blaze might be considered a short game, clocking in between 2 and 3 hours, we think the experience alone is well worth the cost of admission.

Final verdict, you'd be a fool to not your hands on this one!
