Nyan Nyan Triad (or Nyan Nyan Tower 2) is the sequel to Nyan Nyan Tower and is one of several now "rare" doujin games developed by "Shisui House" and "Chimes" who specialize in Catgirl Video Games and who are most known for their "Nekomimi Memorial" series, "Full Metal Sister Marilu", and "Nyan Nyan Parasol". It's a fun old-school repetitive action game where your mission is to save the fairies from a tower in which they are trapped. This time around, Ziam (A character who was aided by Nora in the first NNT) is transformed into a doll by wicked magic and the Tower is trickier to navigate this time. The tower is broken up into floors that require three small keys to make a master key that allows one to advance to the next floor...so the best way to navigate the tower is with three people. That said, three girls will capture the tower: Nora, Teenya, and a "new" third person, Ahya. Ability-wise, Ahya is exactly the same as Ziam.

The game gets the "Triad" in the title because you don't just choose a character in Story Mode. Rather, all three characters MUST be used and you can choose which path that each one can go to. It's a little interesting because some stages are easier with other characters, but you can play any stage with any character. There are over fifty stages in this one too, but the dart throwing mini-game has been replaced with a doll collection stage where you can collect various character dolls from Shisui House's character line-up. There is also a food collection that shows all the various food items that you've collected. This sequel has even more enemies and more traps as well as crazier enemy characteristics. The game's case mimics that of a Dreamcast game (known as Steamcast) and is SSIG-0009 (likely the product code).

The goal of the game is generally the same: just grab all the fairies and take them to the exit panel. The order doesn't matter (though you get more points if you grab them in the proper order), but it becomes trickier to get them as you advance as enemies spawn faster and some fairies have to be collected strategically as you only get one shot and different characters have different traits for adjustable difficulty. For example, Nora's regular attack is not strong enough to defeat enemies (just stuns them) while her charge shot can destroy enemies and walls, but scares fairies away from her to their original positions (so on levels where you can only get a fairy one way, you have to consider if all pathes and such have been cleared beforehand). The game features a Challenge Mode just like Nyan Nyan Tower.

The game features nice and colorful graphics at a low resolution (320x240 with a Chime logo of 640x480) and a good soundtrack...though I felt the soundtrack of the first was better, but this is still fine. This is one of about two dozen doujin games I've purchased recently. Ordinarily, I'd distribute it as the developers don't make money for it anymore and it's nearly ten years old (As of this post), but you can't get music for the game without the CD as the audio files are hidden on the CD and in CD-DA format (you need the CD in the drive to get music too). There's a possibility it could work as an ISO, but I don't exactly feel like figuring that out at the moment. This is a video of the game in action.
