There isn't a whole lot to say about this one. Doujin Otakyubin (or "Doujin Otakyuubin" aka "Coterie Enthusiast Urgent Chance") is a doujin game for the Otaku and otherwise nerdy/geeky individuals who love doujin and independent clicks, and is a doujin game which details and parodies the process of distributing doujin works to rabid fans and cosplayers (with "Ota" being the shortened version of "Otaku", or "Nerd, Geek, or Enthusiast), some who are kinda funny (mostly females). Playing as Sachiko Shinoki, your job is to shuffle through and find all the items each member requests in a timely, puzzle game fashion. While it's a shuffling affair where you slide objects around to access what you need and adheres mainly to the match-three style of simple puzzle games, there are a few draws that make the game a little more strategic. The company, Popls, is a popular media press / distributor, which makes this game neater and a little ironic too.

Firstly, the game is not about eliminiating anything is quickly as possible. This isn't a puzzle game where you can elevate the stack (you have a distributor who slowly moves across the side that delivers more items for you to process or special abilities can affect inventory) and different characters have different orders to fill which are outlined on the bottom right; eliminiating things that aren't necessary won't bring you closer to clearing the stage. Another aspect to the game is making the most of what you have and barrier tiles. While you can macth three of a kind, doing so will only fill any "one order". However, if you're skilled, you can macth four which eliminate "two orders", match five which eliminates "three orders", and so forth. What this means is you can match four tiles to fill two orders, which would normally take six tiles if you were just aiming to match 3s. There are metal blocks (gray and black) which can only be eliminated by eliminations that make contact with them.

There are also "gems" which can bestow a random positive or negative effect. Some things include limiting the viewing area, clearing a column or stock, or raising your stack three levels (good if you have the space to accomodate the extra inventory). As you progress, you'll have a wider variety of inventory to shift through, the stack raises faster, and you have less time to complete the stage. If your inventory hits the ceiling or you run out of time, you lose. The graphics are clean and of a good resolution (800x600), but aren't anything special with limited animations and effects, and some things look "borrowed". The music is nice enough, but I can't help but think at least some of it was borrowed as well. A sequel was made to this game, but I don't own it. This is a video of the game in action. Enjoy.
