The Script
Hey everyone it's kris from krisis gaming and welcome back to the modded oblivion playthrough, on today's episode we suffer a tonne of crashes, overcome them to finally get put on the path to becoming a treasure hunter, and Even complete a quest, but without further ado let's get into it.
What you're currently seeing on the screen is a real-time representation of the struggle to get this game to load at this point, I went through every previous save from the last episode, and the only one that seemed to work was the save that had us in a cave full of monsters, which isn't bad, because at least the game would run, but it would have been nicer to start a little bit further away from this cave. But I had my mission and I had an idea on how to accomplish it, so leaving the safety of The Cave, if you can even call it that, I made a beeline straight to the main bruma gate, I watched the local bandit fight off a grummite but instead of becoming passive after his fight, he decided to show off his strength by attacking me, which meant I was left with no other option but to turn him into an astronaut. However he did drop a sick new sword, which is pretty sweet considering the fact that I think I've been using the bow for like the last two episodes, so I figured this was an omen of good things to come. I made a save after seeing I could pass time, thinking that if anything were to happen I could just resort back to this location and at least still be making progress, however I found out I couldn't fast travel due to still taking damage from the sun, so I figured I would just have to make saves along the way to bruma, hoping nothing major happened along the way.
On the way I fought a scamp and then made another save, and then decided to cheque the time to see how close I was to night time, unfortunately I was still about two hours off from it being eight o'clock which would mean that I would have to somehow kill 2 hours before I would be able to fast travel, or make it into a place where I wasn't being chased down by guards, or the entire city wasnt under siege by every monster in the game. I finally made it to bruma and immediately had a heart attack at all the shit that was going down, and then the game crashed, what was weird though was the game didn't seem to crash as I got to the gate it only crashed after I died, which meant maybe I would just have to do a no death run for the rest of this playthrough, but sadly that was not the case. So upon trying to reload the most recent save outside of bruma, it would not work, on top of that all of the previous saves after leaving the gate in this current episode, also did not work, and so I figured OK well maybe the saves from the last episode would work now and sure enough no, they still did not work, which unfortunately meant that I was still in the same place that I was last episode. However, upon loading into The Cave save this time, I actually had the ability to pass time, apparently all those guards and enemies that were chasing me to hell and back in the last episode had just given up the chase, maybe with this little revelation, maybe I would finally be able to make some progress.
And sure enough, we were finally on the mend, after waiting till about 9:00 o'clock and then leaving the safety of The Cave once more, I was able to teleport straight to bruma city, without having to go through the main gate, upon walking back into the main castle, I was greeted by all of the adversaries that had dared challenge me to Mortal Kombat, they really bring the room together, however as a double whammy I managed to still catch the Countess of bruma before she walked away to her bedchambers, allowing me to talk with her to get the information on where I needed to go to actually complete the quest she sent me on, and you know that as soon as I got out of dialogue I dropped a save. And now after double checking my map I now had a quest marker, things were finally starting to come together. I tried going to frost crag Spire to see if I could just kind of shimmy my way down the mountain side, but eventually I got to a point where it seemed like it was just a straight drop off so it didn't seem like that safe of an option, not only that but as soon as I teleported to the stables outside of bruma to get a direct path to my quest objective, the game crashed again. But that wasn't going to stop me I went back to the stables, and just started running, as fast as I could, hoping that maybe if I had a little bit of distance between myself in that corrupted city, maybe the game would allow me to actually continue.
