My first impressions of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered are here! Does the stunning UE5 visual overhaul enhance the classic RPG, or has some of the original magic been lost? We dive into the graphics, performance issues, bugs, atmosphere changes, and those unforgettable character faces.

This Oblivion Remastered first look covers my initial experience, from a game-breaking bug requiring a reinstall to the weirdly charming physics glitches. We'll look at the gorgeous Unreal Engine 5 environments compared to the original Oblivion's handcrafted texture feel, discuss the loss of atmosphere and that classic fantasy vibe, and stare in horror/amusement at the nightmare fuel character models and facial animations. I also cover the significant UE5 performance problems like stutter and FPS drops even on console, the terrible motion blur (turn this OFF!), the clunky new menu system, and how the Ayleid Ruins exemplify the art style changes.
