Obsidian Developer LASHES OUT on Gamers!
Obsidian Entertainment is a developer of plenty of amazing RPGs. My favorite one is still Fallout New Vegas, and I think Alpha Protocol, while being incredibly janky and buggy, is highly underrated.
Their upcoming game Avowed takes place in the same universe as their Pillars of Eternity series. Unlike Pillars of Eternity, which is more of an isometric RPG, Avowed is a first-person RPG like Elder Scrolls and it does look fun gameplay wise as someone who loves to play Elder Scrolls.
The anti-woke crowds pointed out that this game has pronouns and that's an immediate turn off for most of them. Plenty of people don't like that, including Elon Musk, of all people. If you think the pronouns matter to you, I won't argue. It's your opinion. It's your money. You have the choice not to buy. You do whatever you like.
"I wanted so badly to make him mad with my game, and I cannot believe it actually happened."
Wait, what? You put pronouns in the game to make people mad? This is the art director of the game, by the way. Why are you doing that? I thought the pronouns were for inclusivity purposes, but now it's to score internet arguments.
This is what happens when you hold a lot of resentment to people online. They're going to live rent free inside your head, and when that happens, the stuff that you're going to do will be just to spite them rather than to make good stuff. There are many people online I don't like, but I don't go out of my way to provoke them or antagonize them. I got better things to do in my life.
It's not the person that matters. It's their words and their actions. This to me seems like a really petty action to take for internet arguments that aren't really going to benefit anybody. You're losing customers and you're losing your sanity. No one really wins.
Personally, Avowed does look neat. I might give it a try if it's actually good. We'll see about that next year.
