Thanks to Aftermath for recording this for me! This hasn't been verified by SDA yet, so ignore the statID at the beginning of the video.

Chapter 8 sucks to run. There are a lot of corner boosts to hit and they are all extremely important. Of the 6 corner boosts that I really need to hit, I hit 5 of them successfully.

The beginning (stuff before the water section) goes pretty well. I have had better runs through here, but I have had much worse. I have to fall blindly and hope I don't land on an ukoback, while still killing all of them so I don't have to hesitate on the climb back up. This rarely works, and landing on a flame is instant death thanks to berserker mail. So yea, I get hit here but it isn't too bad.

I miss the first corner boost of the water section (called, fittingly, the "Impossible Boost"). Impossible Boost saves 2-3 seconds but is stupidly difficult to hit, as you might expect. The next two boosts (sea demon boost and frozen shade boost) are done perfectly without hesitation, which is crucial. I accidentally dive kick into a candle entering the third water section for a small loss of time.

The last water boost is the most difficult corner boost in the game. It is difficult to explain. Basically, the trajectory of corner boosts is more or less luck dependent. It isn't exactly sub-pixel dependent, but it behaves as if it is. It's kind of complicated. All you need to know here is that even if you hit the corner boost, you will probably land on the opposite ledge. You need to get lucky with the boost and hope you randomly get a "short" corner boost so you enter the water. There is literally nothing you can do to influence this.

It takes me 3 tries to hit the corner boost, but I carry it through the entire water section (usually a ghost will stop you in the narrow passageway). To give some perspective on how much time this saves, I had another run that hit every single corner boost except this water boost (and only gave this boost one attempt before proceeding), had an additional corner boost leading into the last stretch of the level, and had a perfect legion fight. That run was 1 second slower than this run. So while it took 3 tries, that is still acceptable in my book.

Legion fight is very self-explanatory. Throw R.Boomerangs and don't land on a corpse. I almost got crushed by a laser beam, though. Haha.

This run can be improved by probably close to 10 seconds. If I hit every corner boost (including the long water boost on the first try), get better ukoback luck, and still have an ideal Legion fight, I'd probably get a 2:15 or so. Do I want to try for this? Absolutely not. Most of my attempts ended before hitting the first switch. Many more ended from getting the wrong corner boost in the land water section, and even more that made it past that ended because of an unlucky ukoback position later on. Good luck to whoever tries to beat this time.
