[OC] "ARTY" - My FIRST MIDI sequence! [with FluidR3 GM/GS SoundFont]
The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing - Socrates
So do I. This wee little composition was sequenced by me back in 2019 (and lately edited a lot.), way before the advent of my initial release of ColomboGMGS2 shoddily named as "DAWNS_GMGS2." Whatever. For a long time, I was in such a never-ending struggle to install Synthesia to have its full functionality to play and learn songs even though I still have no keyboard piano yet. Thanks to the *crack* which is now available in GetintoPC, (Back then in a cloud site called mega.nz) I was able to sorta enjoy the flow. Somehow, next up I had some ideas to make such a song to play then I tried MIDIEditor and ended up being a weirdo who can't play his own sequences properly. Please don't question how easy this is to play, this is just the beginning. When looking back, I was too much into using CC#64 (Sustain Pedal.) That SoundFont I was using had perfected for handle it. But when I switched back to that... "humble" GS Wavetable (or some other SoundFont on VirtualMIDISynth,) it definitely went catastrophic as a noise and polyphony loss. So far even today, I learn literally everything by mistakes. Especially, it's my SoundFont. That's why I'm releasing multiple updates even during a smaller period of time.
Before turning a directory on my hard drive as such an archive of various SoundFonts, what I first downloaded is SGM-V2 by "Shan." (Sorta accidentally, YouTube recommended THIS video for me about it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-UwhEyxFrns) And for me, as it was a horrible journey to a strange rabbit hole and some sounds weren't that much great with it, I explored more sf2 files and downloaded FluidR3 for a twist. I'm admiring its warmth and softness here again despite its "out-of-tune" nature. Meanwhile, SGM-V2 is nothing but realistic and well-balanced as the GS Wavetable but with quieter drums. Why do I feel it's too late to realize that this is such a pioneer of the art of SoundFonts? The internet states that the Fluid SoundFont series comes from 1999, the era of SoundBlaster AWE32. (idk. from the license data it says SBAWE32.)
This "song" is somewhat inspired by some background tracks from M.A.D. by Cartoon Network/POGO channel (India) [Dubbed in Sinhala by Hiru TV]
I have no idea about any copyright infringement here. In fact, I was recreating a memory from my late childhood which isn't likely available on YouTube. Whatsoever, my version of it is quite boring as I was just experimenting with how to "draw musical notes on a sound canvas..." I mean, the piano roll thing.
I have no idea wtf am I typing. It's 11:42 PM, late-night and I'm feeling terrible. (sleepy.) Goodnight!
