As far as I know this is the superboss of the demo (I mean it gives you a save point right before his fight none of the other bosses do that).

This was near the end of the stream I just wanted to see if there was a boss here and if so I'd start another run to prep for it. There was also another dungeon called usurper lair near where you get Castii but I could not find a boss in there and I scoured it top to bottom.

So Imagine my surprise when I managed to beat this thing first try, by complete fluke.

So first off I got a bunch of skills on my low level party member because bewildering grace randomly triggered JPx100 on a fight that gave me 29 JP. This was not metagamed this was just luck.

Then during the fight, the plant honestly doesn't do unsurvivable damage in phase 1 just really heavy damage. Then I got lucky again with the minstrel using bewildering grace to summon a golem dealing 9999 damage. I believe this boss has around 15000-20000 HP.

However if you want a consistent quick kill on this boss here's what you'll need. Either use Castii or Agnea to let a party member act again/ go first next turn. debuff the plants defense. And have over 30,000 Leaves so Partitio is able to summon a full team of beastlings twice... I still think my way was funnier.

But to at least try and give a tier list for party members

God Tier:
Partitio - You look at that beastkin damage and tell me it doesn't give results. Plus he can learn fire magic

Amazing Tier:
Castii - Extremely high HP ensures she can stay in the fight and with her concocting she can do 6 shield damage to the boss, potentially for free.
Hikari - Respectable damage and aggressive slash can hit up to 6 times which tears into this boss
Agnea - Can do shield damage regardless of weaknesses and able to buff the entire party... also if you're feeling really lucky you can try bewildering grace for 9999 damage

Good Tier:
Osvald - he won't do much to the shields but the burst damage he can do with a concentrated spell is not to be messed with. He won't be breaking shields though.
Ochette - Mahina can hit any weakness and she has a lot of options depending on the monsters you find but with this boss having high HP and shields it's much harder to slot her in to the party.

Ok Tier:
Throne - technically she can do the most shield damage in a single turn out of anyone but that requires burning all her BP and her unique skill gauge to act twice in a turn and hit the boss 7 times... but that has a drawback that it won't do all 9 shields which is a problem because afterward throne is basically useless for a few turns and she's not bulky so she'll struggle to live long enough to actually damage get this plan off. Maybe she can secretly dominate this boss but I doubt it.

Meh Tier;
Temenos - he can at least strike weaknesses but he has no bulk and will die in basically one hit, his healing won't help that much, and even his burst damage is lacking compared to Osvald. Sure he has a shield breaker ability but you'll get to use it maybe once in battle and do 4 whole shields of damage with it throughout the whole fight. He's not useless but he is a liability here.
