Now that I understand the basic map layout and realized there's a large, open space dead center which... is obviously meant for getting factories built, I'm actually reassessing my opinion of the game yet again.

I'd previously reviewed the game as a more casual approach to automation where due to how the 'belts' (roads) work starting from zero throughput and not really ever getting to full, as well as the maths being based on 90/16 which fudges numbers a bit, this game was/is best played by not worrying about spreadsheets and just solving issues as they come up, getting stuff where it needs to go.

However, now that the map is open AND the game has provided Factory Game(tm) tools in a very cleverly designed gradual fashion, the spreadsheet nut side of me wants to take the game out for a spin this way.

I'm settling on building a rather involved, "100% efficiency" Slashy Spark setup where 9 Stumpy to 6 Choppy to 2 Slashy, supported by 8 Stumpy to 4 Rocky (the Slashies only need 2, but future proofing Rocky for other production chains) involving multiple areas of the map each doing their 100% efficient thing, utilizing the big railway I've built. My understanding is you need a decent supply of combat ready Sparks at the endgame, and while so far anything I've automated I end up using like 1% of it while the rest either backs up or marches into Compactors, at least going through this will scratch the spreadsheet monkey itch I have, lol

I DID fuck this up slightly though, as I realized towards the end of this segment, by assuming the Miasma vents output as fast as you can bottle it- turns out they're capped to 15/min, which throws things off. I'm probably going to swap that over to other production chains and then revert to chopping up Beetlephants (since there's giant herds of them on the East side of the map) to supply the Aether Cubes needed for this project.
