The main resources are starting to filter onto the central section of our production lines, supplying some of the resources needed to get the factory up and running on its own, though the supply of iron ore is still being consumed by the base we used to build out the factory.

Too long have we waited to start the production of oil, though, with the blueprint laid out without coming to life. This changes today, as we start drawing from the oil field and sending it to the refinery to produce petroleum and plastics for the next level of science packs.

Mining resources, researching technologies, constructing infrastructure and automating production are the key to raising and maintaining factories, large sprawling industrial complexes that dominate swaths of land. Now try building these centres of pollution on an alien world hostile to mankind. Time to use your imagination to design production lines, combine simple elements into complex and unique structures as you apply management skills to keep it running as you colonise alien worlds in the name of humanity.
