In OpenAL Soft 1.18.2, audio worked perfectly fine in GRIN's Diesel engine games, but something in 1.19.0 broke the audio and made it distorted. Worse, Bionic Commando and Bionic Commando Re-Armed would not get HRTF on the older, working 1.18.2 build.

Fortunately, the audio is fixed as of the latest 1.20.1 stable release. Make sure you rename the 32-bit soft_oal.dll to OpenAL32.dll and put it in the same directory as the game's executable.
