OpenMandriva Lx 4.1 KDE Overview | Distro Delves S2:Ep8
0In this episode, we're having a look at OpenMandriva Lx 4.1, released on February 1st, 2020. OpenMandriva is based on Mandriva Linux which was discontinued in 2011. Mandriva Linux itself was a fusion of Mandrake Linux and Conectiva Linux. Mageia Linux is another successor to the original Mandriva project.
Mandriva Linux was somewhat based on RedHat Linux, similar to how SUSE Linux uses rpm files and other RedHat-isms. OpenMandriva uses dnf as the package manager, which is what Fedora Linux uses.
OpenMandriva uses KDE plasma as the desktop environment. Similar to openSUSE, Mandriva was somewhat considered a "KDE distro".
