Opera House - 8.0 Quake Simulation (PART 4/4), case study - Blender BCB Physics
This 4- part case study focuses on the behavior of different building materials during an earthquake. This opera house is mainly built from concrete columns, reinforced concrete slabs and masonry walls. It is well known that masonry is one of the weakest construction materials which performs very poorly when the ground starts to shake.
What type of a building would you like to see next?

This simulation was created in Blender 3D with the Bullet Constraints Builder (BCB) which extends Blender´s basic physics functionality with a sophisticated toolset to simulate load dynamics in building structures. It establishes constraining connections between rigid bodies that incorporate real world behavior and parameters.
