3as a solo, throwables are hard to use. enemy teams know exactly where you are and you can be shot before releasing.
the best way to use throwables is to find the "long" side of the lair, such that you can light the fuse in the middle of the long side and have the option of throwing either left or right. i lit the fuse in the corner of the middle of the L-shaped lair, and based on the footsteps, threw left into the short leg of the lair instead of into the middle through the upstairs peep hole window. i call this an "option" throw, meaning, you have the option to switch angles and throw to a different part of the lair. contrast this with throwing through a specific window on a specific side of a lair; most players will simply move to the other side of the lair.
