The monk San-Chang was captured by the Bull Demon King!
San-Chang, a high priest set forth on a journey to learn the most profound Buddhist teachings -- the Da-Cheng Buddhist Scriptures. To realize this ambition, he boldly set forth west toward India in search of the great Buddha and the Scriptures.
San-Chang descended from the heavens. His powers were so great which attracted monstrous demons along his journey. His disciples include monkey Wu-Kong, piggy Ba-Chieh, monk Wu-Ching, the magical horse Au-Ying who transformed from a dragon and his sister Au-Ling. All of them must help San-Chang in an exciting adventure to reach his destiny.
The player can choose one from 5 characters: Long-Nui (girl), Ba-Chien (pig-man), Long-Ma, Wu-Kong (humanoid monkey, "monkey king") and Wu-Chin.
The mischievous Monkey King is a versatile character with balanced speed and power. His magic staff grants him great range in combat. Wukong is affiliated with FIRE MAGIC (Huo).
Armed with his staff, Wukong can perform a spinning rod attack that damages and knocks down all enemies around him. If disarmed, Wukong can use his hairs to create a plethora of monkey replicas around him, punching down all enemies around him at a minor cost to his energy.
The game has typical 2.5D gameplay, like Golden Axe, or Dynasty Wars - the player can move in all four directions, and he must beat various enemies and bosses - each level has one boss at the end. All characters have a melee weapon - like a stick, spear of sword - but can lose the weapon in battle. Throughout your journey, our heroes will encounter various destructibles like tables, barrels, or treasure chests that contain items, some even rare magic weapons! While most containers break when struck open, some treasure chests are booby-trapped against those to try open them. These boxes are marked with a blinking color: red chests explode, blue chests freeze anyone nearby, while white chests can be shocking when opened.
Each hero can only harness the magical power of one distinct element.
These normal weapons can be thrown once per use. When disarmed, the sword and torch can be equipped instead.Various treasures and sacred books award extra points.
Power recover items restore your energy lost from damage.
The game supports up to 4 players co-op and cooperative attacks too,definitely the recommended way to enjoy the game.
