Out Of Bounds Areas in Metroid II - A Wild Glitch Appears! #shorts
In Metroid II: Return of Samus for the Nintendo Game Boy, there is a way to access "hidden worlds," or out of bounds areas that are not supposed to be part of the Metroid map.
Some people call this trick the Block Shifting Glitch, or Block Shift Glitch, or simply the Select Glitch. Basically all you have to do is mash the Select button while running, rolling, or jumping around. While continuously pressing Select, the environment will often load improperly while the screen scrolls, and sometimes pathways will open up, allowing Samus to reach areas that are not ordinarily accessible. Sometimes these areas are merely glitchy copies of normal rooms, and other times they're just random jumbles.
This glitch is virtually useless for a speedrun, but it can be performed almost anywhere in the game, so go nuts and have fun!
