Use Fireballs as Small Mario in SMB - A Wild Glitch Appears! #shorts
In Super Mario Bros. for the Nintendo Entertainment System, it's possible to shoot fireballs as small Mario.
Here's how I typically perform this glitch:
First, reach Bowser as Fiery Mario (this is what the instruction manual calls him). Then, defeat Bowser by jumping on the Axe thing at the very same frame that you take damage from Bowser. Timing a jump precisely can allow you to land on Bowser and the Axe at the same time.
If you timed the trick right, Mario will appear to have reverted to Super Mario (without fireballs) and the game will advance to the next level. Then, without taking damage, grab a Magic Mushroom (again, this is what they are called in the instruction manual) and a Fire Flower. If you did everything correctly, you will now be able to shoot fire balls as small Mario.
Along the way, you'll notice that grabbing the Mushroom will change Mario from big to small. You'll also notice upon completing the glitch that small Mario will transform to big Mario for a few frames every time he throws a fireball. You'll also notice that taking damage again will change you back into Super Mario, however you will not be able to take a hit without dying in this state.
