Skipping the Supercomputer in Metal Gear - A Wild Glitch Appears! #shorts
In the NES version of Metal Gear, you can completely skip the battle against the Outer Heaven Supercomputer.
From the previous room, walk into the doorway to the super computer room, then immediately hold right on the d-pad. For some reason, Snake will warp from the Supercomputer room straight to the next room where Big Boss awaits. As an added bonus, this skip will bypass the self destruct sequence, and the countdown timer will never activate. Therefore, the final battle against Big Boss and the proceeding escape will be slightly easier.
Normally, the Supercomputer takes 16 plastic explosives to destroy, so this skip saves a bunch of time in a speedrun.
Side note, in the MSX version of Metal Gear, there is no super computer. Instead, you get to actually destroy Metal Gear by planting plastic bombs on his feet in the correct order. The NES version of Metal Gear replaces the actual Metal Gear with a Supercomputer, which I feel is just a terrible choice as far as the narrative is concerned. Thanks, Konami!
