Need 85 DPS + to work against all room combinations except the most difficult and rare ones. With 89 DPS it can take down a Photic Overmind in 7:30 minutes. So you can get two in a run and still have 5 minutes to deal with the third room.

Since the fit is cheap (need around just one run to pay it), even if you eventually die, it wont be a setback like when dying with Gilas and other expensive ships.
