Out Run really shouldn't require any introduction since it's one of the biggest and best coin-op racing games ever made. Personally, I think that this is a pretty decent conversion, although magazine reviews at the time thought it mediocre.
The C64 version packs in most of the features of the arcade, including 2 decent music tracks by Jason C. Brooke, which are faithful to the arcade version.
The C64 obviously wasn't capable of the branching route selection found in the arcade version, so the programmers got around the issue by including each of the 5 routes as a separate game on the same tape/disk; pretty neat!
My only quibble with the game is the fact that the game often puts cars in all 3 lanes of the road, making it difficult to get by, but other than that it's a good game.
