This video shows you how to overclock your i7 with motherboard socket 1156 with chipset p55. The video was designed for beginners. This method can be easily applied to the processors Intel Core i7 860, Core i7 870, Core I7 870k, Core i7 875k, Core i7 880. To receive a basic 3.8Ghz overclock I suggest you to use a good after market cooler such as Corsair H50,H60, H70 or Thermalright Venomous X or something similar to there performance. Aslo use a good thermal compound like Artic Silver. This technique and methods are not limited to overclocking i7 only. You can also apply this knowledge to overclocking i3 or i5, however I suggest you to lower frequencies for those CPU to 3.5-3.6Ghz for a basic overclock.

Why do we need overclocking? We do need to overclock our systems to achieve higher frequencies of signaling that results in better performance and faster calculation speeds. Is it safe? Well if you will follow my tutorial then I would say yes but no guarantees. Today`s motherboards, processors, video card and it components build from such a high quality technology that it is possible to squeeze an extra from them. However I am not guaranteed you anything, and I am not going to pay for your damages or issues. You are doing it on your own risk. Of course manufactures do not want you to do so, so they are making stories how bad is overclocking so they can sell you an extra 200 mhz for extra 100-200 dollars when you can get it for free.
Is overclocking will shorten life circle of my components? Yes, however your cpu and motherboard are designed to work for 7 years so overclocking will reduce it life to 5-6 years. By that time your computer will be history.

I used this setup:

Motherboard: EVGA p55 FTW
CPU: Intel Core i7 860
Memory: G.Skill DDR3 4 Gb 2100 Mhz
Hard drive: WD 1 TB SATA
Video Card: EVGA Geforce GTX 465
OS: Windows 7 64 bit

You can apply this method to any other brands such as Gigabyte, Asus or MSI. Make sure those board a middle range and have overclocking capabilities such as changing BCLK frequency, CPU multiplayer, memory frequency, timing and divider/multiplayer. Also make sure you motherboard build with high components - preferred solid japanese capasitors . all middle Gigabyte UD series has that, MSI military class, and Asus middle range motherboards has those features.

This video was split into multiple parts. i recorded this video while was visiting Miami. Sorry about my friend sleeping in the background - I used a high quality mic that picking up everything. Also please thumbs up for each part for my hard work. Please check video parts bellow. Watch them all for the full tutorial and to understand the concept and overclocking theory and practice on socket 1156 with chipset p55.
