Overwatch: Lucio Overview & Introduction! (Abilities & Lore)

Lucio is the latest support character of Overwatch. I had the chance to play a game of Lucio just a couple of days ago at Gamescom after he got announced at the same event as well. The goal for this video is to quickly introduce Lucio with all the necessary information to give you a head start when the game goes in beta likely later this year.
- Sonic Amplifier (LMB) - Basic attack, pushes enemies back and does damage.
- Soundwave (RMB) - Pushes a target backwards on a low cooldown.
- Crossfade (Shift) - Two buffs in one ability of which only one can be active at a time. It either heals or it gives extra movement speed.
- Amp It Up (E) - Improves the Crossfade ability with even more healing or movement speed.
- Sound Barrier (Q) - Activate to grant nearby allies a shield.
- Wallride (Space) - Run over a wall while pressing space bar.
Movement speed and positioning make this a very difficult Hero to play. Lucio is an extremely fast character. With the limited amount of time I had with Lucio it was obvious that he shines in team play with proper communication and objective based play. He is one of the most powerful and versatile Heroes in Overwatch.
The music that Lucio plays in game depends on the Crossfade buff that he is providing. All abilities play different music that is audible in game.
Lucio's story is interesting. He grew up in a poor neighbourhood in Brazil and after the Omnic Crisis he found a way to lift up the mentality of the people around him with the power of music. The Vishkar Corporation promised change and improvement to Brazil, however it never happened. Lucio decided to take matters into his own hands and stole the sonic technology from Vishkar during an uprising he became a star. With his fame, Lucio wants to use this as an opportunity to make a difference and change the world for the better.

Unveiled on November 7, 2014 at BlizzCon, the game emphasizes cooperative gameplay using a cast of various "heroes", each with their own abilities and roles within a team. The game is scheduled to enter a closed beta phase in the fall of 2015.
