StarCraft 2: MASS Widow Mine! (Game Analysis)
1,762Every now and then in StarCraft 2 you will face an uncommon strategy. The meta is established and pretty much always focuses around either Biological units with Widow Mines or around Mechanical units from the Factory for Terran. For Zerg, you usually will see Mutalisks, Zerglings and Banelings or Roaches, Hydralisk and Vipers.
However, in this game my opponent decides to first go for a one base aggression and then follows it up with massive amounts of Widow Mines, before transitioning towards Banshees. Countering those kind of strategies can be tricky as they are relatively uncommon.
The best way I've found to dealing with this specific unit composition is Banelings and Roaches. This is usually not your first reaction. I've lost to this build order many times by going for Mutalisks Zerglings and Banelings still, or by focusing too heavily on Roaches and Hydralisks.
