Overwatch: Torbjörn Overview & Introduction! (Abilities & Lore)
299Torbjörn is one of the most defensive characters of Overwatch. His health isn't impressive, and he is very immobile compared to some other Heroes in the game. However, he can deal incredible amounts of damage with his stationary turret. This sentry will fire at any enemy Hero that comes nearby and if placed in key locations can control an entire area.
Torbjörn's abilities:
- Rivet Gun (LMB) - Shoots straight forward in a line. Effective at medium to long range.
- Rivet Gun (RMB) - Shoots 5 bullets at once in the form of shells. Deals damage at short range combat.
- Forge Hammer (2) - Torbjörn can switch to a hammer using the hotkey "2".
- Build Turret (Shift) - Torbjörn can then construct a Turret. Only one can be active at a time. Can be upgraded.
- Armor Pack (E) - Throws an armor pack on the ground that can be picked up by any ally, allowing an additional 75 armor.
- Molten Core (Q) - Ultimate ability that allows Torbjörn to become stronger in every way possible for a limited amount of time.
Torbjörn playstyle will be pretty stationary. He can move around himself, but he is going to always be close to his turret, keeping him almost on a leash. Knowing the maps and where to position the turrets is going to be crucial. Torbjörn is very slow compared to other Heroes in the game. None of his abilities allow him to get around the map fast at all meaning that he has no escape either. Most of the work is going to be done by the turret.
Torbjörn is the one that designed the various weapon systems and all kinds of technology used by armies. Before the Omnic Crisis Torbjörn gained notoriety for this excellence in creating weapons, but his employers wanted him to create weapons for robots. Then the Omnic Crisis happened.... During the Crisis Torbjörn was recruited into the Overwatch team. His inventions were crucial in ending the crisis.

Unveiled on November 7, 2014 at BlizzCon, the game emphasizes cooperative gameplay using a cast of various "heroes", each with their own abilities and roles within a team. The game is scheduled to enter a closed beta phase in the fall of 2015.
