Overwatch: Tutorial (My Thoughts & Recording Plans in the Description)
Overwatch has been all the rage lately. I think I can list a few reasons:
- The game is an FPS with a unique charm to it compare to games like Call of Duty or Battlefield. Most would associate those series with dark gritty colors, but Overwatch uses the entire color spectrum and at times, looks beautiful as a result.
- The game has a very great and diverse cast of characters, with different styles and ways to use them as well as covering several different ethnic groups, leading to the game's international appeal. Kinda reminds me of how Street Fighter and Tekken handles their characters.
- The different styles of these characters allow for different advantages and disadvantages against other characters, kinda like Street Fighter and Tekken, too.
- THE WOMEN. I mean holy crap! Waifu Wars in a non-Japanese game was unheard of before this game. Almost every female character is beloved (probably a little too much. Isn't that right, Pornhub?), but the ones I see get it the most seem to be Tracer, D.Va, Widowmaker, Mercy, & Mei.
- In general, Blizzard's INSANE marketing campaign for this game has reached out to a lot of people who probably would've passed it off as another generic FPS shooter. However, this also means that the game is undeniably going to suffer from people who would rather call it "Overrated" due to how it's everywhere. This is especially true with fans of Battleborn who like that game more than this one, and also considering the much poorer amount of attention that game has...
I have absolutely no history with Blizzard games at all. Consider Overwatch my very first one. I don't really know how many videos I plan to make of it, though, but since it's a hot new title right now, I gotta give it some attention.
Now... don't expect the prettiest-looking videos of this game from me. The Dell Latitude laptop I'm playing this from is not build to be a gaming laptop, so for the most part, I can only get the game played well with low specs. I hope you don't mind that, but I do want to upgrade sooner or later. At least my OBS treats it decently enough for me to make videos out of it.
UPDATE 6/30/16: However, I've decide to slowly try to improve the quality output on this game on my laptop anyway, just to see how far I can go without it going into a single-digit framerate or even worse, outright CRASHING my game when I record it.
Speaking of which, I use the Open Broadcasting Software or OBS to record this game, just as I have with my Story Mode playthroughs of Skullgirls 2nd Encore.
--------------
For now, let me show you the video of this game's Tutorial, where you use Soldier 76, the Jack-Of-All-Trades and Call of Duty equivalent for this game, to learn of Overwatch's controls, attacks and objective rules.
