Overwatch: Widowmaker Overview & Introduction! (Abilities & Lore)
685This week we take a look at Widowmaker, one of the deadliest Heroes in the game. She will be seen primarily picking off targets a distance with her sniper rifle. Her basic attacks deal a ton of damage, but her rate of fire is very slow.
In this video I go over Widowmaker's abilities in Overwatch, as well as a quick introduction to her story.
Widow's Kiss (LMB) - A standard left mouse click will make this weapon fire like a machine gun.
Widow's Kiss (RMB) - Switches to Sniper Rifle for long ranged targets.
Grappling Hook (Shift) - Uses a Grappling Hook to quickly move around the map.
Venom Wine (E) - Puts a mine on the ground. Gets triggered by enemies and emits a poison gas.
Infra-Sight (Q) - Allows Widowmaker to see through walls to line shots up perfectly.
If your enemies are trying to escort a payload and you know they're just about to come around the corner, activating the Infra-Sight Ultimate at the correct time can easily give you enough vision to get in position and take out the entire enemy team
The story of Widowmaker is that of a ruthless efficient killer who shows absolutely no emotion. She used to be married to Gerard Lacroix, an Overwatch agent who was trying to go up against the Talon terrorist organization. After Talon tried to take out Gerard unsuccesfully, they decided to shift focus on his wife Amélie. They kidnapped her and put her through a complete program of reconidtioning. They broke her, surprssed her and reformed her as a killer. She is now barely human.

The goal of this series is to introduce the different Heroes of Overwatch so you can get an advantage when you are able to play this game, which is likely later this year. I will try to keep the videos short and concise but with all the necessary information to introduce the characters. Overwatch is an upcoming multiplayer first-person shooter in development by Blizzard Entertainment. Unveiled on November 7, 2014 at BlizzCon, the game emphasizes cooperative gameplay using a cast of various "heroes", each with their own abilities and roles within a team. The game is scheduled to enter a closed beta phase in the fall of 2015.
