Oxygen Not Included | Part 11 | How to Cool Water
In this video I review some of the major changes in the base since the last video. I finished off the water cooler that uses a thermo switch and thermo regulator. It cools hydrogen gas down to -30 or so and then pumps that gas through a series of gas pipes in the hot water tank. This cools the water down. The thermo switches are used to turn the system off if the gas gets too cold. I also use one on the water pump so I don't pump hot water into the base. It's working wonderfully so far.

There are probably easier ways to cool water that require less power. One simple method is to pump water above a tank of hot water and drip it back down over 1 or more wheezeworts. You can increase the effect by creating a radiator with both air and water pipes behind it. This post has a more details version:

Or a very simple method is to allow geyser water to drain down into a ice biome. This may eventually thaw the ice biome but it is very simple and can last a long time.
I also built out a new sleet wheat farm which is closer to the base. I also took my natural gas generators, which were in a horizontal line and aligned them vertically instead. This helps keep the wiring and piping neat and tidy. I also decided to grow pincha peppernut inside my natural gas generator room because it was very hot in there. Almost the perfect temperature for the pincha peppernut (55-60 degrees Celsius)
I also built a room to pump any unwanted Chlorine Gas to get it out of my base. I noticed the hand sanitizer gives off smalls bursts of chlorine when used. I also put some fridges in a chlorine gas filled room to see if that keeps the food sterile. I think it is working but not certain yet.
I continue to explorer towards the center of the asteroid on the hunt for magma. I think I will reach it in next episode. My goal is to try turning polluted water into clean water by boiling it on the magma.
