Pacer Is A Love Letter To Wipeout And F-Zero | Pacer PC Gameplay
Do you long for games like Wipeout and F-Zero? Then Pacer might be for you. Set in 2075 our new Pacer gameplay shows off the anti-gravity combat racer game from R8 Games. You can tell it’s the future because there are adverts for Bio Meat. And and a range of ships and weapons and race tracks - discover them all in this quick video tour of the game. This video was recorded as part of the EGX Rezzed 2019's RPS Sessions, powered by XSplit (https://www.xsplit.com), and supported by RIG Gaming (https://www.plantronics.com/gb/en/gaming) and GamesPlanet (https://uk.gamesplanet.com).
If you are looking for games like F-Zero, this has a lot going for it. It even has some of the former Wipeout team involved in elements of design. Formally known as Formula Fusion, Pacer is a complete reboot of the idea. It’s all about speed management and strategy, rather than an arcade racer, having to think about how you will survive each race and push your vehicle to the finish line. This isn’t a Pacer review, but some early Pacer impressions: and at first glance we can definitely say there is a lot of speed, and lots of interesting crafts to pick from and race with.
Rather than picking up weapons as you go, you choose a loadout before you start the race, adding again to Pacer’s strategic take on the racing genre, and allowing you to race and play in the way you’d prefer. Do you want to choose an offensive or defensive weapon? It’s all down to you, and is there to give you your own personal experience. We should note that Pacer can be played in 4K at 60FPS - even on Xbox One X - but this is 1080p PC capture.
