Panasonic has announced a new pseudo-SLR camera with a superzoom called the Lumix FZ80D. This happened shortly after the company released the Lumix S9. The model is well suited for wildlife photographers who want a compact camera with impressive coverage.
The Panasonic Lumix FZ80D is an update of the Lumix FZ80 model that was released in 2017. It is equipped with a high-sensitivity CMOS sensor with a resolution of 18.1 MP, a Lumix DC Vario lens with 60x zoom and the POWER OIS system, just like its predecessor. However, the model has some improvements, including an improved viewfinder and a rear touchscreen LCD. It offers in-camera charging and comes with a USB-C port and cable.
One of the main features of the new Panasonic Lumix FZ80D is the DC Vario 60x lens, which offers an ultra-wide zoom range within the capabilities of a 20-1200mm telephoto lens. This comes in handy when the photographer is out and about, watching wildlife or just taking in the scenery. When shooting at longer focal lengths, the POWER OIS system helps eliminate image blur caused by camera shake. This helps create sharper images, even handheld.
The Lumix FZ80D can record UHD 4K/30p video at 100 Mbps in MP4 or Full HD 1080p format and 720p/120 and 480p/240 slow motion. It also has 4K Burst, 4K Pre-Burst and 4K Burst (S/S) modes for recording continuous 8-megapixel photos at 30 frames per second. Zoom Compose Assist allows the user to quickly zoom out an image with the push of a button to confirm the composition. The camera also has a special macro mode that allows you to focus on objects with a working distance of 0.4″.
