This is a snippet of my brief hour long playthrough of the third Operation Rainfall title: Pandora's Tower, finally released to English speaking audiences last friday in the UK.

The best way to describe Pandora's Tower is as an RPG with Castlevania-esque elements, it's actual premise and feeling is similar to Team Ico's Shadow of the Colossus however. You're given the gruesome task of obtaining the flesh of monsterous titans in order to lift a curse befallen upon your loved one. In order to do this you have to navigate thirteen towers that border the edge of the underworld, surviving what lies ahead of you, and defeating the beasts one by one.

From what I've played, I can say Pandora's Tower is as fascinating as you'd hope of a game at it's calibre. It's as beautiful, challenging and ultimately rewarding to experience as either Xenoblade or Last Story might of been. People have already been quick to call it the weakest of the Operation Rainfall three but I think it matches up equally in quality thus far.

Hopefully Pandora's Tower will see a US release before too long but until then I suggest you pick up the other two titles in Xenoblade and Last Story, the latter of which being released this summer through XSEED games, the former through Gamestop.
