It's very important that you get 12 shards off these minibosses, since it can protect against paralysis.

Turns out slain Astras are replaced by stronger optional bosses. This one is one of the tougher ones, sinceshe can spam paralysis. I postponed this boss.

She can counterattack any physical attack, but other than that, you should be able to win a battle of attrition.

24:38 Boss: Wood Dragon
For some reason, Rinne isn't confident about beating the dragon boss here, despite beating an Astra earlier. Also, the dragon looks like barney.

Make sure you find the Yellow Ring for more paralysis resist.

Every time one dies, the others get stronger.

The boss treasure grants a skill that can buff the party's resistance to various ailments, including paralysis.

36:01 Boss: Undine
Since it's a water type, you probably shouldn't equip the scythe from the Fire Ruler.

38:38 Boss: Earth Ruler
I had to get Automaton shards on everyone, Yellow Ring on Lorin, and Blue Orb on anyone. Then I have to maintain the Blue Field buff at all times. This doesn't completely remove the chance of paralysis, but statistically, it shouldn't happen too often and you'll have enough actions available to recover.
Sadly, the drop is a weapon for the other party. I really wish the game made ailment resist items buyable, since it feels unfair if the boss can lock you down with ailments.
