When a stone is dropped at point A in the water near a bank of a river, ripples produced spread in the water. Width of the river is b, water in it flows everywhere at a velocity u and velocity of propagation of surface wave relative to water is v. How long after the stone was dropped, will the ripples reach the point B on the opposite bank in front of A ? Consider the conditions v greater than u, v =u and v less than u.
