Pax Dei Testing Begins 23 April
23It has been a while since I’ve done any Pax Dei news, the main reason was because I was waiting for the Quarter 1 2024 Alpha testing to have a date, but as game development will go Mainframe Industries had to punt that testing just a little bit. Usually I’m a stickler for deadlines, but I’m not going to beat up a company for a couple of weeks, when they graciously provided an explanation before the actual end of the first quarter. Mainframe has been working on improving the public alpha test codenamed Wilderness and they are bringing a lot of changes including the first pass of PVP.
They plan on inviting 100,000 players to this test including players who were in the first Alpha. If you were in the first Alpha you don’t need to do anything. If you were not part of the first Alpha head over to https://playpaxdei.com/en-us and register by April 15th. If you link your discount to your profile it will increase your changes to be selected for the testing round. Also, if you don’t have any friends to play with, you can use Friend Token “paradox” and that will at least put you near the people I will be testing with.
The first thing that has been worked on is the combat, with the enemies now being smarter and more formidable requiring “strategy and skill” to defeat. This is not the final iteration of combat, but stats have been revamped, damaged mitigation, targeting, and spell mechanics have been improved. They’ve also worked on lighting and the biomes, they’ve adjusted crafting adding new crafting stations, additional resources, and magical materials. Finally they are adding in the first pass of PVP.
The main thing many people will be looking forward to is the introduction of PVP. Keep in mind, this is only the first pass of PVP so give all the feedback you have, both good and bad.
