I think the final version of this map that made it into Sunlust is the better execution of the idea. The courtyard and rocket launcher fights feel like they swing really hard, they either go really well or really poorly, with not a whole lot of room for in between.
Those fights aren't random, I was able to get through them more often than not after not very long, but they can really modify how the rest of the map plays out. This run happened to go extraordinarily well.
Maps like this also remind me why the fist is frustrating to use, between Doom's garbage hit detection causing your fist to apparently phase through the target, and the damage range being so massive makes it feel really unreliable.
The Arena/Daggerfall music is neat, I don't hear those tunes much in wads.
