Cecil (aka Snoop) washes up on the shores of Mysidia after his ship is destroyed by Leviatan. The citizens of Mysidia don't treat him kindly, mainly because Cecil slaughtered some of the Mysidian people and captured their Crystal of Water back in episode 1.

But the elder of Mysidia tells Cecil the only way to defeat Golbez and save the world is to give up the Dark Sword and become a Paladin, which is like a holy knight or something.

Cecil, accompanied by two annoying twin children named Palom and Porom (aka Monday and Stairs) travels to the peak of Mt. Ordeals to complete his transformation into a Paladin. Along the way, he is met by one of Golbez' minions, Milon, the Fiend of Earth. And at some point Tellah (aka Cindy) joins us.

This is the song I was talking about. It's called Mystic Variations by AeroZ as part of the OC Remix Final Fantasy IV: Echoes of Betrayal, Light of Redemption album - https://youtu.be/DAt2ezWAvy8
