Coming back to from a 10 year old save game and was lost where I was in the story:

PART 1 - Exploring RORAN; Already completed but did not know; Quick failure: https://youtu.be/Q8ocI0UEooY
PART 2 - Explored to regain perspective.
PART 3 - Explored more. Somewhat regaining where I am at in the story.
PART 4 - Searching UZO for MARUERA leaves to help breath underwater.
PART 5 - Completed UZO; Found MARUERA leaves at UZO; Got MARUERA gum.
PART 6 - Found PIATA; Have not used MARUERA gum. (P.S. Did not save at the end as I made a bad purchase.)
PART 7 - Exploring RORAN; Already completed; Unlocked SHIR
PART 8 - Exploring; Not sure what to do next. Still lost as to what locations I've completed.
PART 9 - Exploring BIOSYSTEMS LAB; Already completed; Finally found out where I am in the story. Right after completing this lab, the next task is the search for CLIMATROL. I'm part way in this search, having completed RORAN (JET SCOOTER) and UZO ISLAND (MARUERA GUM).
PART 10 - First video where I am back on track completely; Completed CLIMATROL; Beat NEIFIRST; Next step is to find the key cards for the dams (colours: red, yellow, green, blue?) in a hidden control tower.
PART 11 - Beat COTROL TOWER; Got Red, Yellow, Blue, Green dam key cards; Can now open dams.
PART 12 - Completed RED DAM.
PART 13 - Completed YELLOW DAM.
PART 14 - Completed BLUE DAM.
PART 15 - Exploring GREEN DAM.
PART 16 - Completed GREEN DAM & GAIRA.
PART 17 - Exploring DEZO & SKURE; Trying to reconfigure an optimal party. Hard to figure out. Not sure if I should go with AMY or not.
PART 18 - Discovered ZOSA & AUKBA. Accidentally sold ROLF's TITANIMET at 44:41!
PART 19 - Completed ESPER CREVICE, visited ESPER MANSION, and acquired PRISM (AEROPRISM) -- can now see hidden dungeons with PRISM. Game "crashed" at end, because XBOX Live disconnected which causes it to quit the game on queue when the internet shuts down. This is twice this has happened to me during playing Phantasy Star II, and luckily I did not lose leveling-up progress each time.
PART 20 - Almost Completed MENOBE: died trying and have only have 1 of 4 items left (NEIMET); Completed SKURE: collected remaining MESETA (money); Made a huge mistake and purchased LACONIA SWORD for *twice the price* and wasted 22,000 MESETA because I wore MAGIC CAP instead of MOGIC CAP. :(
PART 21 - Completed MENOBE; Acquired NEIMET; Saved 29,000 MESETA for the LACONIAN HELMET (LACONIMET) but realized the NEIMET is better for ROLF.
PART 22 - Exploring GUARON; Acquired LACONINISH, AMBER ROSE, CRYSTCHEST (CRYSTAL CHEST) -- all items I already had -- and NEICAPE!
PART 23 - Completed GUARON; Acquired NEIARMOR.
PART 24 - Started IKUTO; Found LACONIA DAGGER, LACONIA MACE & PULSE CANNON.
PART 25 - Completed IKUTO; Acquired FIRE STAFF, NEISHOT, & NEISLASHER.
PART 26 - Started NAVAL.
PART 27 - Completed NAVAL; Acquired NEISHIELD, NEIEMEL, TRUTH SLVS (TRUTH SLEEVES which has GIRES technique), GR SLEEVES (GREEN SLEEVES), LACON EMEL (LACONIAN EMEL), and MIR EMEL (MIRROR EMEL). Have all NEI items!!! All main characters -- ROLF, RUDO, ANNA, and AMY -- are maximum equipped!!!

NOTE ABOUT MAPS: When I played this game as a child, it came with a hint book, that had all of the maps. Coming back to the game now, I tried to play it without using maps, but it is near impossible. I forgot that the dungeons were designed as mazes that progressively get harder. They get so hard that, even with a full map, it is a challenge to calculate the path. It is designed to require a map that you either have or create yourself, so I decided to use maps online from this site: https://fantasyanime.com/phantasystar2/ P.S. In the original Japanese release, it released without a hint book -- without maps -- and I read somewhere it could take 250 hours to complete the game!
